Aoife Cowhie, a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, qualified in 1995 while she was working full time in practice. She then moved into Financial Services for 2 years before joining CMS in 1998.

Aoife’s experience in both practice and financial services is complementary to Paul’s management accounting experience. Her particular areas of expertise are year-end and management accounts, payroll, company start-ups, general business advice to clients and liaising with external auditors. In fact Aoife often describes herself as the agony aunt of business!

As a wind down from her busy schedule Aoife enjoys running, walking a very fit and lively Kerry Blue terrier called Roxy, helping Paul with his training program and cooking.

Paul is a qualified management accountant, he qualified in 1990 and gained his initial experience in Cadbury Ireland PLC. He then went abroad to Spain and Portugal where he worked in the property development industry for almost 5 years.

On his return in 1995, on seeing a gap in the market, he decided to start his own management accounting practice. Originally Paul Cowhie Management Services, the business grew and in 2004 Cowhie Management Services was formed.

Paul has implemented accounting systems and controls in a wide variety of businesses over the last 30 years. He has gained invaluable commercial experience, which is of huge benefit to our clients. Paul’s particular area of expertise is accounting system implementation, budgets and forecasting and financial control.

When Paul is not busy with accounts, his passion is running. He has won numerous national road, track and cross country titles at masters level ranging from 800m right through to 10,000m. In 2014, he achieved he won a bronze medal in the 5000m in the European Masters Track and Field Outdoor Championships in Izmir, Turkey. Then in 2019 he achieved the ultimate goal of winning the silver in the 10,000m road race in the World Masters Championships in Poland.
